Welcome

Dartford Churches Homeless Project started in 2014 as the Dartford Churches Winter Shelter, aimed at helping homeless adults from Dartford to stay warm and safe during the cold winter nights, and to assist them with finding somewhere more permanent to live. Although, following the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have been unable to continue running a shelter we continue with our initial intent, to support the homeless in Dartford.

Through the support of Dartford Borough Council, our full-time outreach worker works closely with the Council’s Housing Team and other agencies to seek out the homeless and rough sleepers in Dartford to help them on from homelessness.

If you need support, here are some sites you should look at:

  • Dartford Foodbank
  • Dartford Together– this is a new page set up by Dartford Borough Council to provide information and resources
  • Our Dartford – this is a new local volunteer group, offering a range of support
  • Mary’s Child – an established charity based in Greenhithe, and providing a food pantry and other support
  • Kent Together – a new 24 hour helpline and online portal from KCC to provide help for the most vulnerable  or 03000 419292

Making a difference in the lives of rough sleepers in Dartford

Providing a place where homeless men and women in our community are met with friendship and a listening ear

There is sadly no opportunity for help from volunteers at present.

The report for New Avenues for 2021 is available on the Forms & Reports page

Supported by contributions from local churches, Dartford Lions and Dartford Borough Council
